Dr. Diao received an NSF Office of Polar Program grant (NSF OPP-1744965)

Dr. Diao received the National Science Foundation Office of Polar Program (OPP) grant 1744965. The title of this project is: "Collaborative Research: Ice Supersaturation over the Southern Ocean and Antarctica, and its Role in Climate."

PI Minghui Diao will be working collaborating with Dr Andrew Gettelman from the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). They will use airborne in-situ and ground-based remote-sensing observations to understand cloud formation and their radiative effects over the Antarctica and Southern Ocean. This study will help to improve the parameterizations of clouds in the NCAR Community Atmosphere Model version 6 (CAM6), and thereby providing more observation-constraints on global climate simulations.

The project starts from April 15 2018, and is a four-year project from 2018 to 2022.
